Family-centered Autumn Wedding at Peterson Dumesnil House, Louisville
If you read any of my blog posts around here, you know I love a November wedding. They’re so underrated. It (usually) actually feels like fall around here in Kentucky, the leaves are either in their prime or halfway on the ground so they crunch beneath your feet and it feels like it’s time to cozy up. There’s the coziest feeling about November weddings.
Mike and Jeannie got married in November (if you hadn’t guessed yet) at Peterson Dumesnil House here in Louisville, Kentucky. When Mike reached out to me about their wedding, he said the wedding itself would be laid-back and he wanted the photos to reflect that. He also told me that posed family photos as well as candids were important to them, because their family wasn’t often all together.
I included posed family photos in this post, which isn’t something I normally blog. Of course I take them, I just don’t show them since I'm not sure if people find them interesting or not. But I thought I’d show them here since even though they may not be everybody’s favorite to take, they are important and nice to have to look back on.
Then I spent the rest of the day taking candids (my fave) and the dance floor ones stood out to me from this wedding because everybody really let their guards down and just had fun together.
It was an honor to be able to capture Jeannie and Mike’s day, they were just the kindest people and made my job easy.
Oh and shout out to the Peterson Dumesnil House for providing the prettiest backdrop for photos and the yummiest food! This was my 4th or 5th wedding there and each time I enjoy photographing there more & more.
