Downtown Louisville Wedding at Muhammad Ali Center
We had a blast photographing Andi & Anderson’s wedding! Their day started with them getting ready at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Louisville. The “getting ready” photos are some of our favorites to take. It’s the beginning of the wedding story & sets the mood of the day.
We decided to do the first look at Waterfront Park under some pine trees that provided lots of shade. Though the temperature was fabulous, we got hit with tons of wind and working with that was challenging. But I think if you can learn to embrace the wind, it’ll actually work in your favor for photos and provide movement that wouldn’t normally be there.
Tip: If your wedding is downtown but you want to do a first look somewhere with more nature, don’t be afraid to leave the venue to get those photos. Just make sure you plan in a lot of travel buffer time, like we did for this day and everything will go smoothly!
The Muhammad Ali Center, their wedding venue, was decorated gorgeously by Beth Torstrick of Fairy Godmother’s Events. My favorite touch was that Andi used her grandmother’s china as table centerpieces . . . such a precious idea! And the view of the ohio river and downtown from the Muhammad Ali Center was stunning as well. We snuck the couple away for a few minutes at sunset to capture the view of them from the balcony. 10/10 would recommend this venue, at least from a photography standpoint!
We’re so grateful for both Anderson and Andi and stoked that we get to see them again soon since we’re photographing the maid of honor’s wedding this year! If you’d like to read more about them, check out their engagement session here.
huge shout-out to all of the amazing vendors!!
