Couple's Photoshoot at 21C Art Museum & Hotel in Louisville, KY
Alright you all, I’ll be real, this photoshoot was a little out of my comfort zone. There was absolutely zero natural light, so I was either working with the hotel lighting or my flash. There was a bit of manuvering around people visiting the museum because we tried not to get in anybody’s way. Since 21C’s art musuem is filled with all kinds of art, I also made sure to think through each pose before I set Kate & Davin up. Speaking of posing, this was a lot more “pose-y” than a lot of my work, but I still absolutely loved it.
I won’t lie and say that I wasn’t nervous, but I think that really got my creative juices going and I’m proud of how the photos turned out. All my years of flash practice are paying off! It was super fun to use direct flash and my honeycomb magmod flash diffuser.
All that to say, nerves can be good and so can a challenge. I’d get bored if I did the same thing everyday and my job is sooo far from being boring which I adore.
Kate and Davin wanted to book a session just because, since their wedding was in 2019 and they hadn’t had any photos taken since then. They were in town for the Jack Harlow concert and decided to go all out by staying at 21C and getting photos done. :) They were such kind, hilarious people to be around and they trusted all my ideas, from jumping on the bed to being blinded my flash ha! Plus they’re pretty cute and had the best style. I can’t even take credit for the full idea, because Kate saw some museum engagement photos on tiktok and had that in mind when she reached out to me.
I’m really grateful for my job and the cool people that it allows me to meet. Enjoy the photos!
